The Update

Well all kinds of things have happened around here recently, so I thought I'd fill you in. Some of you know of these developments in my life and perhaps some of you may not. But either way I just wanted to make some things clear, you know, answer some questions. As you may remember I got laid off from my job at the end of September. So that's why there were only three posts to this blog during all of October, I'm just not in front of the computer all day any more. Which, believe me, is actually quite nice. In fact, the entirety of the being laid off situation is pretty nice. Which brings us to the question of, well what are you going to do with yourself C Dizz? You're out of work, you haven't finished college, you don't even go rock climbing any more. So wtf on the barbie?!? And you're right to ask that question. Some people have suggested that I have lost my motivation in the past couple months. But those people haven't quite hit the nail on the head. You see, my motivation has simply shifted in another direction. First of all back in July I met this person who is the greatest person I've ever met. She happens to be passing through Boulder on her way from San Francisco to the Virgin Islands. So what I'm going to do, what we are going to do, is to move to the Virgin Islands together in January. This may seem outrageous or sudden to some people, and I assure you it is both. It is a rapid development to be sure. But the only thing that's outrageous about it is how much this person means to me and how amazing the relationship that we have built over the past four months is. I don't usually write posts about my personal life. But because these changes are so significant I wanted to share some of them with you. So, in short, my motivation has shifted, away from certain outdoor pursuits (because let's face it, I didn't really give two shits about my work), and towards this relationship and the direction we are taking it. And there you have it. The posts won't stop. I'll get back to giving you hilarious and intriguing updates. Thanks for reading. Mucho love.

I'm out of touch

You're out of time. Time.
And I'm outta my head when you're not around.

I know I know, it's been weeks and you're desperate for more interesting links. Well I finally have some time so once again here's some links.

Let's start with an instant classic. College Humor's Brohemian Rhapsody.

It's Halloween weekend, and here's Jerry Seinfeld doing his Halloween bit.

Ladies, looking for a costume? Check out the Girl's Costume Warehouse.

Here's a funny teleprompter blooper. I'm Ron Burgundy?

That's all for now folks. See you next time eatin' the pudding.

Ain't over

So, I'm back. Or rather, I never left, I just took a break. And to be fair, posts will be much less frequent now that I don't spend all day every day in front of a computer. My guess is that this will influence the nature of the posts as well. Now that I don't have hours to find interesting things online to share with you I will have to resort to simply sharing interesting things that happen in my life. We'll start with some photos from this past weekend in Moab. Hope you enjoy them.

I'm right here, baby

Looks like the results of the latest poll are in. Only one of you works in an office that is hot rather than cold. Any thoughts on what type of office this might be? I was thinking you might be a stripper, or a steam engine conductor, or perhaps a blacksmith. But those are just the obvious ones. Either way I'm elated, as my faithful readership has increased from 3 to 5.

I've seen this somewhere before. Classic case of American superiority complex. Divert your course.

This guy can unicycle over 144 bottles of beer. Pretty neat.

The latest installment in the Stupid Question Hall of Fame. I'm going to take question C ftw.

New Radiohead

Turns out Radiohead is releasing a new album in ten days. Pretty cool huh? But wait, there's more. You can pay whatever you want for it. I'm not sure what that really means, but I am sure that it's the coolest thing I've ever heard. Here's the article.
You can visit Radiohead's website to pre-order it.

Check out Kanye West on SNL mocking himself. This is pretty funny, and I've gotta say fairly redeeming.

Myanmar/Burma

Nathan forwarded me an email from the president of Naropa University regarding the crisis in Burma. Please take a moment to visit this link and sign the petition.
Petition to the Chinese president and the UN Security Council.

Here's some further articles on the situation in Burma.
Al Jazeera
BBC
NY Times
And a bunch of photos of the monks protesting, some of which are fairly graphic.

From the Naropa president's email:
"May peace prevail in our time."
